All dental practitioners should be prepared for Migraine Awareness Week 2012, and be ready to help patients learn more about the dental causes of debilitating headaches, according to the dental splint professionals at S4S.
Migraine Awareness Week takes place from 2-8 September this year. As in previous years, The Migraine Trust will be raising awareness of the condition and its importance as a serious public health issue. Migraine affects more than 8m people in the UK, making it more prevalent than diabetes, epilepsy, and asthma combined.
In the run up to the event posters and flyers will be distributed around the UK, giving advice on events and activities, and listing ways in which volunteers can help.
S4S is promoting a series of seminars by Dr Pav Khaira, a dentist with a special interest in migraine and pain management, to help all dental practitioners to increase their knowledge of the problem and to learn more about practical solutions.
