Introducing a number of exciting new elements to the programme, the 13th annual Careers Day conference and exhibition was a resounding success.
Delegates from around the UK assembled in London to discover the challenges and opportunities that dentistry has to offer.
Hands-on demonstrations, a business room and a CV clinic were popular new additions, adding even more variety to the usual blend of seminars, panel debate and exhibition. Each visitor received 5 hours’ verifiable CPD along with valuable insight and guidance on their future in the profession.
Co-hosts the UCL Eastman Dental Institute and the British Dental Association were delighted with the turnout. Professor Andrew Eder gave the opening address, welcoming an audience that included newly qualified dentists, established clinicians and dentists from overseas.
The much-anticipated panel debate featured Professor Eder; Barry Cockroft CBE, Chief Dental Officer, Department of Health; Elizabeth Jones, Postgraduate Dental Dean, London; and Peter Ward, Chief Executive, BDA. Judith Husband, Chair, Education and Ethics, BDA Principal Executive Committee, hosted the lively discussion and took questions from delegates to put to the panel.
Careers’ Day 2013 left attendees inspired, enthused and sufficiently informed to plan their next steps to reach their dreams.
