Dentist raises over £20K for Teenage Cancer Trust

Dr Dermot McNulty of Bath Spa Dentistry ran the Londpn Marathon in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust in memory of his niece, Margaux, who died from cancer at the age of nineteen

Dr McNulty successfully raised in excess of £20,000 and also managed to convince six other family members to take part, all of whom ran for the same cause.

Cancer is the most common cause of non-accidental death in teenagers, and the incidence of these cancers has increased dramatically. Every day, six teenagers in the UK are diagnosed with cancer, and there are now more young people than children with the disease.

The trust is devoted to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer. It funds specialist units within NHS hospitals where teenagers can be treated alongside their contemporaries and receive treatment from specialist nurses and doctors.
