Orthodontic consultant on Guardian careers panel

The British Orthodontic Society fields orthodontic consultant on Guardian careers panel. The Careers section on the Guardian Newspaper website ran a live Q&A on breaking into dentistry on January 20 between 1pm — 4pm as part of its National Occupation Shortage List Series.

Experts including practicing dentists and the British Orthodontic Society were online to take questions and offer advice on careers in dentistry. Appearing on behalf of the British Orthodontic Society was Scott Deacon,Lead Consultant Orthodontist for cleft patients in the South West of England. Scott is Training Programme Director for Specialist Orthodontic Training in the South West; Course Director of the postgraduate orthodontic programme at the University of Bristol and Clinical Project Lead CRANE Database, a national register of cleft births in England and Wales. He started his Consultant post over 4 years ago after training in Belfast, Brighton, Manchester and Bristol in the previous 13 years.
